Exciting News: New Schoolhouse Renovation is Underway!
I am thrilled to announce the renovation of a new 2 room schoolhouse at Oak Ridge Nature School. This new building will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for our students and align perfectly with our mission to promote hands-on, experiential learning in a natural setting.
One of the key features of this new schoolhouse is the gross motor area. This indoor play space is designed to provide a safe place for students to play during severe weather. The space will be equipped with plenty of room for active play and gross motor development, so students can continue to stay active and engaged, no matter the weather outside.
In addition to the gross motor area, this new schoolhouse will also include a weekly yoga program. Yoga is a wonderful way for students to build strength, flexibility, and focus, and I am excited to bring this program to our nature school.
The new schoolhouse will also feature a classroom designed for hands-on learning and exploration. The space will be equipped with natural play materials, such as wooden blocks, loose parts, and other materials that encourage children to use their imagination and creativity.
I am also excited to announce the introduction of a preschool program using a Waldorf curriculum. This curriculum is based on the principles of respect for childhood, the arts, and nature, and I believe it aligns perfectly with our nature school. The preschool program will begin in the fall of 2023 and will provide children with a unique and engaging learning experience that will help lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
The renovation of this new 2 room schoolhouse will be complete by the end of March 2023, and I can't wait to see the positive impact it will have on our students and our nature school as a whole. I believe that these improvements will enhance our students' learning experience and provide a more engaging, hands-on environment for them to grow and thrive.
