Nature School: Your Preschooler's Experience

Spending time outside in all kinds of weather and every season is like being on a grand adventure every day. I get to see and feel all these amazing changes that happen in nature, and it's like my body knows what's going to happen even before I do.

When I'm at Oak Ridge Nature School, I can feel the weather changes in my skin. I know winter is coming when it gets really cold and I can see my breath in the air. My fingers and nose start to tingle, and I can tell it's going to snow soon. And when spring is on its way, I feel all warm inside, like the world is waking up after a long nap.

I also know when the animals are coming back. I don't need a calendar to tell me. I hear the birds singing in the morning, and I know they've come home. It's like they're talking to me, telling me that spring is here. And when it's going to rain, I can smell it in the air. The earthy, wet smell is like a secret message from the clouds.

It's not just about the big things, though. I can feel the small changes too. I know when it's time to look for certain flowers because my heart tells me so. It's like a little whisper in my head that says, "Look over here, the flowers are coming!" And when I see a bee buzzing around, I know the flowers are ready for the bee to visit.

Knowing all these things helps me get ready for each season. It's like I have a nature calendar inside me. I know when it's time to wear my warm coat and when I can run around in shorts. I also know when it's time to plant seeds and when it's time to harvest them.

And the best part is, I get to share all these feelings and discoveries with my friends at Oak Ridge Nature School. We have this special bond with nature, and it's like we speak the same language. We can all feel when the seasons change and when it's time for new adventures.

Being at Oak Ridge Nature School has made me feel like I have a secret connection with the world around me. I'm learning to trust my feelings and my senses, and it's the best thing ever. Nature is my teacher, and every day is a new lesson in wonder and intuition.

I can't wait to see what the next season will bring and what new things I'll discover. Nature is full of surprises, and I'm ready to explore them all!
